GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS ARLEDGE TO PEARL RIVER INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

(Jackson, Miss.)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of John Arledge, of Brandon, to the Pearl River Industrial Commission. By statute, this appointment also makes Arledge a member of the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District (PRVWSD), which manages and controls the Ross Barnett Reservoir and surrounding area, including an area one-quarter mile from the shoreline of the reservoir at high water. Members of the PRVWSD represent Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Scott, and Leake counties.
“I am pleased to have John serving on this commission,” Governor Barbour said. “A native of the Pearl River area, John understands the district’s economic and recreational importance, and I am confident that he will serve the citizens of Mississippi well.”

Arledge, 37, is executive vice president for marketing and business development for Community Bancshares of Mississippi, Inc. He served as vice president of marketing for the bank for six years before being named deputy chief of staff to Governor Haley Barbour in 2003. Arledge also served on the staff of Governor Kirk Fordice from 1991-1995 as director of communications and was the owner of Arledge Communications from 1995-1998.

A Pearl River Valley Water Supply District leaseholder for 13 years, Arledge and his wife, Ginger, have two children: Addison and John Nix. They live in Arrowhead Point.
