Mark IV Appoints New Executive

Amherst, New York, March 31, 1997 -- Mark IV Industries, Inc. (NYSE: IV) announced today that Giuliano Zucco has been appointed Vice President of Mark IV Industries, Inc.

Mr. Zucco began his career in the automotive business as Sales Engineer for Eaton, located in Rivarolo (Turin), Italy, after which he joined Blackstone Corporation, where he was responsible for the company's European automotive activities. In 1991, Mr. Zucco joined Dayco Europe, a Mark IV operating unit, as Managing Director, and was responsible for the European automotive OEM market. In March 1996, he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Mark IV Automotive. Mr. Zucco will continue to serve in his current position with the company, in addition to becoming a Mark IV corporate officer.

Mr. Zucco is an Engineering graduate, and received his Master's Degree in Business Administration at the University in Turin, Italy.
