GOVERNOR BARBOUR REAPPOINTS GIBBS TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
(JACKSON, Mississippi)-Governor Haley Barbour has reappointed Derek Gibbs, of Yazoo City, to the Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services, which is designed to improve long-range coordination and the fiscal management of data processing functions in state agencies.
“I am pleased Derek has recommitted his services to this department. I know he will continue to be an asset to this group as they work to improve the state’s technological services in an effective and fiscal manner,” Governor Barbour said.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Mississippi State University, Gibbs began working as a chief technical architect. He has served in this capacity for eight years. He and his wife, Stephanie, have been married 12 years. Together, they have two children, Clara and Ella.
