GOVERNOR BARBOUR REAPPOINTS AYCOCK TO BOARD OF MEDICAL LICENSURE
(JACKSON, Mississippi)-Governor Haley Barbour has reappointed Dr. Larry Aycock, of McComb, to the State Board of Medical Licensure, which regulates the licensing of healthcare professionals, such as physicians, podiatrists, physician assistants and radiology assistants.
“I commend Dr. Aycock for his exemplary service on the Medical Licensure Board, and I look forward to his continued good works in this capacity,” Governor Barbour said.
Dr. Aycock has practiced general internal medicine at Southwest Mississippi Regional General Hospital for 12 years and previously worked in private practice. In addition, Dr. Aycock has served as a clinical instructor in the program of community medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine from 1975 to 1990. A former captain and medical officer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Aycock completed a tour of Vietnam in 1968. Professionally, he is a member of the American, Mississippi State, and Southwest Central Medical Associations; American College of Physicians; and American Cancer Society.
Dr. Aycock earned a bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College and received his degree in medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He and his wife, Deborah, have been married 43 years.
