GOVERNOR BARBOUR REAPPOINTS PORTER TO MISSISSIPPI HOME CORPORATION
(JACKSON, Mississippi)-Governor Haley Barbour has reappointed Charles Porter, of Brandon, to the Mississippi Home Corporation, which provides safe and decent housing available for every citizen. His six year term will end in April of 2014.
“Charles has done an excellent job as a member of this organization, and I’m delighted he has once again accepted this important assignment,” Governor Barbour said.
As owner of Reservoir Real Estate and Porter Construction for the past 24 years, Charles Porter has served as President of the Homebuilder’s Association of Mississippi in 2003 and President of the Homebuilder’s Association of Jackson in 1995. Within his community, Porter was the builder of the first Miracle Home for the Blair E. Batson Hospital and has participated in the construction of several Habitat for Humanity homes.
A graduate of Hinds Jr. College, Porter is married to the former Cherri Roberts and has two children, Matt and Cady.
