GOVERNOR BARBOUR REAPPOINTS MARLER TO BOARD OF CONTRACTORS
(JACKSON, Mississippi)-Governor Haley Barbour has reappointed George Marler, Sr., of Morton, to the State Board of Contractors, which works to protect licensed contractors and the public against unlawful and fraudulent acts of contractors.
“George has been an asset to the Contractors Board, and I’m delighted he is willing to continue his important work in this capacity,” Governor Barbour said.
Before retiring, Marler was president and owner of Marler Construction Company as well as president and co-owner of B.C. Rogers Construction Company, where he worked 25 years and 5 years, respectively. Marler also served as a federal civil engineer for 12 years.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University. Marler has three children, George Jr., John, and Jim.
