GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS WILKINSON TO MISSISSIPPI RIVER PARKWAY COMMISSION

 

(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of Faye Wilkinson to the Mississippi River Parkway Commission, which is a multi-state organization that works collectively to preserve, promote, and enhance the scenic, historic, and recreational resources of the Mississippi River.

 

“Faye is well-qualified to work in this capacity. I am confident she will be an asset to the citizens of Mississippi while serving on the Parkway Commission,” Governor Barbour said.

 

Wilkinson is the retired assistant dean of Hinds Community College. She serves on the board of directors of Good Shepherd Community Center, is a lay delegate to the Mississippi Annual Conference, and an active member and former vice president of the Sampler Antique Club. Wilkinson was allocations committee chair of the United Way, where she was also recognized as “Volunteer of the Year” in 2005. Former secretary and treasurer of the Lakewood Homeowners’ Association, Wilkinson is a lifetime member of the Vicksburg Junior Auxiliary. She and her husband, Herb, reside in Vicksburg.
