GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS HUDSON TO STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY

Governor Haley Barbour has appointed David Hudson of Kosciusko to the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy. The board protects and promotes the health of Mississippi citizens by regulating and controlling the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of prescription drugs and devices.

“Mr. Hudson brings years of experience to the pharmacy board,” Governor Barbour said. “I appreciate his commitment to serving the people of Mississippi.”

Hudson replaces Elizabeth Spencer. Hudson currently is a pharmacy manager at Sullivan’s Discount Drugs. He also is the owner and manager of Howell & Heggie Drug Company in Durant. Previously, he was staff pharmacist at Sav-Rite Drugs in Port Gibson. Hudson was past president of the Kosciusko Exchange Club and has served as the past president of the Kosciusko Country Club.

Hudson graduated from East Holmes Academy and Holmes Junior College. He later graduated from the University of Mississippi’s School of Pharmacy. He and his wife, Christy, have four children, Ben, Sam, Wes and Kate.
