GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS SAWYER TO MISSISSIPPI EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION AUTHORITY BOARD


Governor Haley Barbour has announced the appointment of Robert J. Sawyer of Gulfport to the Mississippi Educational Television Authority. He replaces Ann Brock.

The Mississippi Educational Television Authority provides instructional, educational and public service programs through educational television and radio.

“Mr. Sawyer’s knowledge and experience as an investor will bring a fresh perspective to this important board,” Governor Barbour said. “I look forward to working with him.”

Sawyer currently serves as the Managing Director of Trinity Investment Services, LLC/ Sawyer Financial. Previously, he worked for Stifel Nicolaus & Company Inc. He is a member of the Gulfport Business Club, the Gulf Coast Business Council, the Better Business Bureau, and the Gulfport Rotary Club. He also is a former Vice Chairman of the Harrison County Finance Committee and the Harrison County Development Commission. He is one of only 60 financial advisors nationwide who are Master Certified members of the HS Dent Advisors Network.

Sawyer earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Mississippi. He and his wife, Suzie, have two children, John and Betsey.
