GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS ANDERSON TO VETERINARY MEDICINE BOARD

 

(JACKSON, Mississippi) — Governor Haley Barbour has appointed Gail S. Anderson, of Brandon, to the State Board of Veterinary Medicine, which works to ensure veterinarians are competent and knowledgeable as well as to enforce the laws, rules, and regulations regarding veterinary practice in the state.

 

“Gail is extremely well-qualified for this position in which she will work to oversee the practice of veterinary medicine is safe for both our state’s animals and citizens. I appreciate Gail’s willingness to serve in this capacity,” Governor Barbour said.

 

Anderson is owner and partner with her husband, Dr. Jim Anderson, at Crossgates Veterinary Clinic, where the couple has worked for nearly 30 years. Anderson is a member of the Greater Jackson, Mississippi, and American Veterinary Medical Associations, and also participates as a member in the American Animal Hospital Association. She has been involved with the Friends of the Jackson Zoo, Rankin County 4-H, and the Rankin County Cattlewomen’s Association.

 

A graduate of Mississippi State University, Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. She earned her medical degree from the Auburn School of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband, Jim, have three children.
