GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS COOPER TO STATE CONTRACTORS BOARD
(JACKSON, Mississippi) — Governor Haley Barbour has appointed Chris L. Cooper, of Gulfport, to the State Board of Contractors, which works to protect licensed contractors and the public against unlawful and fraudulent acts of contractors.
“With his extensive contracting work and designation as one of the state’s only Registered Roof Consultants, Chris brings a unique perspective to the board and I look forward to his good works in this capacity,” Governor Barbour said.
Cooper began his career in the roofing and sheet metal industry in 1973, working at the family owned business, Mandal’s Inc. He became vice president of Mandal’s Inc. in 1984 and in 2001, Cooper became the sole owner of the company.
A Registered Roof Consultant, Cooper completed his training with the Roof Consultant Institute. He is a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association; Roof Consultant Institute; Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors; and Mississippi Roofing Contractors Association. An active member of his community, Cooper also holds membership in the Coast Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, Knights of Columbus, and the National Rifle Association.
