GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS BOYKIN TO THE BOARD OF DENTAL EXAMINERS
(JACKSON, Mississippi)-Governor Haley Barbour has appointed Dr. Carl Boykin, of Jackson, to the Board of Dental Examiners, which determines qualifications and issues licenses to dentist and dental hygienists while regulating the practice of dentistry within the state.
“Carl has impeccable qualifications and work experience that will be very valuable to this committee, and I’m delighted he has accepted this important assignment,” Governor Barbour said.
Dr. Boykin has owned and operated his own private dental practice in Jackson for the past 32 years. He is past president of the Mississippi Dental Society where he also received the distinguished Britton Award. He is a member of numerous professional dental organizations including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Mississippi Dental Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the American Equilibration Society.
A graduate of Alcorn State University and Howard University’s School of Dentistry, Boykin reentered the military and completed his General Dentistry Residency before returning to Mississippi. Boykin is married and has two adult children.
