GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS ROBERTSON TO CORN PROMOTION BOARD
(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour announced the appointment of Benjamin Robertson, of Indianola, to the Mississippi Corn Promotion Board, which promotes the growth and development of the state’s corn industry by research, advertisement promotions, and education and market developments.
“Ben brings a wealth of talent to the board, and I am confident he will do an excellent job promoting Mississippi’s corn industry during his term on the MRCB,” Governor Barbour said.
Robertson has worked in farming for 8 years and is currently a partner in the Holly Ridge Planting Company. He serves or has served on the board of directors for various companies, including Bostick Brothers, Inc.; Cotton Belt Liquid Gas, Inc.; Mississippi Sweet Corn Processors, Inc.; and Catfish Pointe Land and Timber Co., LLC. Additionally, Robertson is a past board member of the Indianola Chamber of Commerce.
A University of Mississippi graduate, Robertson holds a bachelor’s degree in business management. He and his wife, Annie, have one daughter, Mary Rice.
