GOVERNOR HALEY BARBOUR’S JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE SEARCHING TO FILL VACANCY

 

(Jackson, Mississippi) – Governor Haley Barbour’s Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee is conducting a search to fill a vacancy on the Hinds County Court (Subdistrict 3) as a result of Judge Mike Parker’s recent retirement from the position.

 

“On behalf of the citizens of Mississippi, I want to thank Judge Parker for his service as County Judge and congratulate him on his appointment as a Federal Magistrate,” Governor Barbour said.

 

The Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee will review nominees in accordance with Executive Order 914 and make recommendations to the Governor. The 31-member committee includes a chairman and ten attorneys from each of the state’s Supreme Court Districts.

The deadline for submitting applications and recommendations is Wednesday, June 14, 2006.
