GOVERNOR BARBOUR APPOINTS JOHNSON TO THE DELTA REGIONAL REVITALIZATION TASK FORCE

(Jackson, Mississippi)—Governor Haley Barbour today announced the appointment of Clifton Johnson, of Tunica, to the Delta Regional Revitalization Task Force. The task force will function as an independent research and analytical group designed to set measurable, achievable, and significant goals that will revitalize the Mississippi Delta Region.

“Clifton, a Delta native, understands the value of economic development to the region’s economy. Having years of business experience in the Delta, Clifton is a good choice to fill this position and will serve successfully in this role,” Governor Barbour said.

Johnson has worked as an auditor, accounting manager, and small business owner, and is currently serving as the Tunica County Administrator. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, which led to his work for the Mississippi State Auditor’s Office in 1984. Johnson is married and has two sons and one daughter.
