STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR HALEY BARBOUR
May 7, 2004

“I want to thank the Senate for unanimously confirming my four appointees to the College Board today. During my campaign, I promised that I would appoint people with ties to our four comprehensive universities. We did that, but we also appointed people who have the proven ability to help our universities continue to improve. Ed Blakeslee, Bob Owens, Aubrey Patterson, and Robin Robinson will be great additions to the board of trustees, and I am pleased they are willing to serve.”
