GOVERNOR BARBOUR TO DELIVER STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS
Speech to include assessment of current issues and 2006 legislative priorities

(Jackson, Mississippi) -- Governor Haley Barbour will deliver his third State of the State address Monday, January 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the House Chambers at the State Capitol. Governor Barbour will report on the progress the State has made over the last two years, his assessment of current issues and the continuing recovery and rebuilding efforts from Hurricane Katrina.

Also included in the speech will be Governor Barbour’s legislative agenda for the 2006 legislative session, including the UpGrade education reform package and other initiatives.

Governor Barbour’s State of the State Address will be broadcast live on public radio and at 10:00 p.m. on television by Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
